This workshop is for people who have had some experience of painting and would like to loosen up and experiment with new techniques in their work. In this one-day play session you will:
Colour, collage and Texture in Abstract Painting follows on from the introduction to abstract painting session. It is a an expressive workshop about releasing creativity by experimenting and learning techniques of mixing media. We will make collage papers, look at techniques with acrylic paint, use wax resist, draw with sticks, splatter and dribble paint. Building on ideas from the first workshop we will look in more depth at using colour, collage and texture to create interest in abstract compositions.
- Make your own papers for collaging
- Experiment with different techniques including scumbling, splattering, painting with fingers, cloths and sticks.
- Use pastel, ink and pen
Who is this course for?
- Beginners new to mixed media
- People who would like to learn how to loosen and become more expressive in their painting
- Anyone who would like to quieten their inner critic.
As an experienced teacher and artist Lin Cheung is able to create a friendly supportive workshop environment so that people feel relaxed and comfortable and ready to learn. She is interested in supporting people to discover their creativity whether they are new to art or more experienced.

Based a few miles outside Glossop, The Old House is in a fantastic location with stunning views and a great studio space for us to work in.
Refreshments and lunch are not provided, the venue has tea, coffee, drink and snacks (crisps, biscuits) available to purchase. As the venue is rural please bring lunch with you.

Terms of the Booking.
If there is not a viable number of students, workshops may be cancelled and payment returned. Should you cancel, a refund will be give, less 50% of the course fee. It is regretted that no refund can be made in respect of bookings cancelled 20 days (or less) prior to the date of the workshop. Bookings may be transferred to alternative dates.
The balance to be paid by 5 days of the workshop date.
