Read Your Painting: A five-day challenge for abstract artists

Orientation Session
Friday 3 April

Five-day Challenge
Monday 6 – Friday 10 April

Live Sessions
7:00pm UK

Questions you'll explore over the five days

If you’ve been painting for a while, the questions often become less about how to begin and more about how to understand what the work needs next.

How do you move a piece forward without overworking it?
How do you recognise when something is working?
How do you develop your work rather than repeating the same moves?

Read Your Painting is designed to help you look more closely at your own work and make clearer decisions about where to go next.

How the Five Days Work

Across five days you’ll explore one focused idea each day.

You’ll be asked to bring a few existing studies, sketchbook pages or past pieces to work from.

Each day includes:

• a short PDF prompt delivered by email in the morning
• a live Zoom session in the evening with teaching and discussion
• selected participant examples discussed during the session
• recordings available if you can’t attend live
