Portfolio Show in Tideswell

Abstract paintings and mixed media works available to view and buy

I’ll be holding the second weekend of my small portfolio show at Tideswell Studios this June, bringing together a fresh selection of available paintings from the studio before I leave the area later this year.

The May weekend focused on quieter mixed media pieces and more constructed works. For the June show, I’ll be showing a different side of the studio: more gestural paintings, bolder colour, stripe-based works and pieces with a stronger sense of movement, surface and energy.

The show includes older and recent work, from small framed paintings to larger pieces. Some have been shown before, while others have rarely been seen together, so this is a good opportunity to see the range of available work in person and choose something for your home or collection.

Seeing the paintings in real life gives a much clearer sense of their surface, scale, colour and material detail than is possible online. There will be time to look properly, ask about individual pieces, and talk through what might suit your space.

Dates

Saturday 20 June
Sunday 21 June

Times

10.30am – 5.30pm both days.

Location

Tideswell Studios

About the work

My work is rooted in material process, surface, colour and mark-making. The paintings often explore the balance between structure and spontaneity, with forms, lines and layers emerging through direct response to the materials.

This June selection brings together some of the more dynamic threads in the work: gestural marks, strong colour, textured surfaces, repeated stripes, and layered compositions that move between structure and improvisation.

This is likely to be one of my last local opportunities to show available work before moving, so if you’ve been thinking about buying a painting, or would like to see what is currently in the studio, I’d be very pleased to see you there.
