Junction 36 Art Fair
More than 60 artists from across Cumbria, North Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales will be showing work over the weekend. You’ll find me on Stand 32, with a selection of recent paintings and work from my portfolio.

The exhibition brings together a new body of abstract oil and mixed-media paintings that move between dense activity and quieter spaces. More assertive colour and fragmented structures emerge through layering, scraping back, rotation, collage and drawn marks, creating work shaped by asymmetry, disruption and unresolved tension.

About the work
My recent work began with a desire to make colour less polite and to move beyond compositional structures that had become familiar. Through layering, scraping back, rotation, collage and drawn marks, I am exploring how paintings can become less contained, less predictable and more willing to remain unresolved.
These two exhibitions offer an opportunity to see this developing body of work in person. Larger oil paintings will be shown alongside quieter, smaller mixed-media pieces, revealing shifts in scale, pace and intensity across the work.
