Studio & Play Sessions: Studio Time for Making and Experimenting

These are two-hour, guided studio sessions for artists who want focused time to make work, try things out, and work alongside others.

Each session includes a short introduction, extended studio time, and a closing conversation where we reflect on what’s emerged. The emphasis is on doing — experimenting with materials, responding to prompts, and noticing what happens when you work in different ways.

These sessions also give you a feel for how I work with artists — how I talk about paintings, materials, and studio decisions.

If you find that helpful, it’s the same practical approach that underpins Directions in Abstraction, a longer course focused on understanding the main principles and ideas that help paintings work.
